CASE STUDY: Building job-ready digital marketers through strategic 1:1 mentorship
Sobre a CareerFoundry
CareerFoundry was a Berlin-based EdTech platform delivering intensive, mentorship-driven programs for career changers entering digital marketing. Their courses combined structured curricula with personalized guidance to help students build practical skills, professional portfolios, and the confidence to compete in real job markets.
The role
Over nearly three years, I worked as a Digital Marketing Mentor—guiding career changers through one of the most disorienting professional transitions there is: moving into a field where everyone seems to already know everything, and nothing in your background quite prepares you for what’s ahead.
My role wasn’t just to teach tools and tactics. It was to help each student develop the strategic thinking, professional judgment, and market awareness they’d need to walk into a room and be taken seriously.
What the work involved
Each mentorship was 1:1 and highly personalized—built around where the student was starting from and where they needed to get to.
Strategic marketing roadmap Guided students through the full digital marketing landscape—SEO, paid media, social media, analytics, and campaign strategy—with a focus on understanding why decisions are made, not just what to do. The goal was strategic confidence, not tool familiarity.
Portfolio development & positioning Helped students build portfolios that reflected real strategic thinking rather than just completed assignments. This meant teaching them how to frame their work, articulate their decisions, and present themselves as credible professionals—not just course graduates.
Career strategy & job market positioning Provided guidance on how to navigate hiring processes, identify the right roles, and position their unique backgrounds as assets rather than liabilities. Many students came from completely unrelated fields—that perspective, properly framed, became a differentiator.
Curriculum feedback & alignment Collaborated with CareerFoundry’s curriculum team to flag gaps between course content and real market expectations—ensuring the training stayed relevant to what employers were actually looking for.
